They can and do and it is seen. People who see it are often people who own birds in captivity who will mate, sometimes it will be done out in the open or sometimes in a nesting area. The same goes or out in the wild - it may be out in the open, though because this is in the wild, it makes them very vulnerable to predators, and it may and typically is done where they can't be easily spotted or attacked in or around a nesting area or high tree.

I have seen many different domestic bird types "do it". It is very quick and the male gets on the female's back. Their cloacas (the vent or bum hole and also where penises and eggs come out from) are either pressed together or very close for the male's penis to enter. Bird penises are not like humans', they are pretty flexible.

Some duck named after the lake it lives around in North America has the longest penis to body size of any animal. It's penis is more than double the birds' length. Makes you wonder how they tuck it all back in . . .

Now, if birds don't have sex, what is the male's penis used for? And how did you think the eggs got fertilized? There's no making a hole in the egg after it's laid and then patching it up.

Every animal no matter how big or small have sex, how else do they produce babies. It doesn't come from thin air. birds hop on top of one and other. Get some documentries on birds they will show it in there.Monkeys are the only animals that do it like humans. I saw it at the zoo with my own eyes. the female was on her back with her legs spread and the male lay on top of her, I swear its true. Any way I hope that help you out.

Of course they can. Where do you think baby birds come from? The male mounts the female from the back for a second or 2 and thats it. It's very quick.

You probably define sex in the way humans do. No, birds do not have the genatalia to do it that way. They both basically have holes that the press up against each other to form one tube then the male's sperm goes into the female. See diagram in link. There are also further links explaining it better.

Yes, of course they can. If you ever kept chickens you would see the cockerel going round giving the girls one , also all other birds do it the same way. The male gets on the females back and inserts the plunger, it's all over in seconds.

communicate earlier What? I did listen a parrot at Soco Gardens in Maggy Valley, NC sing, "I Left My heart In San Francisco." It became sparkling as a bell. Or, possibly from the darkest jungles of the Amazon comes the haunting cry of the sex fowl, "SKA- ROO, SKA-ROO, SKA-ROO"

Of course birds have sex. (so do bees!)
The male fertilizes the eggs, otherwise they would not develop into baby birds (chicks). Birds do things very discreetly, not in the open.

My chickens have sex all the time. not really much fun to watch. My ducks have sex quite offen as well, not nearly as noisy. One of my roosters tried to screw my duck, and the drake ran over and grabbed him by his neck and dragged him around the yard for awhile, I have not witnessed any such behavior since.

Then there will not be baby birds. The boy sings to her, to put her the mood. then he gets on her if she permits and away they go.
