No, it is not legal. You will more than likely get spyware and viruses from downloading them, it all depends on what program you use to download them. Microsoft vista won't be validated, any multiple copies won't be able to be updated, and I've heard they have more assurances that you won't be able to operate your computer for long with it. That and microsoft is petty enough to sue individual users.

You might have validation problems when trying to play NFS Carbon online. Since you're using a stolen/generated serial number, the game servers will see this and refuse a connection.
Companies such as Microsoft have been using activation methods for years to combat this, but hackers will usually find ways around the security measures.
At some point you'll have to make a decision on weather to buy the software or defeat the copy protection.

No, it's totally illegal to download copyrighted content without the permission of the copyright holder. There's nothing illegal about bittorrent itself, per se, but it is mostly used to do illegal things. They're not blocked because it's hard to censor something on the internet.

using torrents to download is NOT illegal
even the company behind opera and other companies (people who make linux distros for example) use it as a way to distribute material and save on their own bandwith etc etc
what IS illegal is downloading copyrighted material for which you do not hold the rights too
however if you are downloading it for use as a backup then that should be ok but i think the law is a little grey there
as you are allowed ONE legal backup copy of any material you have purchased

Legal? lol haha, Dont kid your self. Of course it isn't legal.. I mean, some of the files your downloading could be legal.. but not what you've listed. They are all illegal. But, millions of users distribute the things they've purchased.. whatever, people have been doing these things for years.. lol
Dont worry about deleting.. don't worry!! lol
be safe,
Dominick
P.S.
Whatever people say here is to normally scare you. That girl that posted above that said "I know how to delete them so you wont get caught" ... Shut your mouth.. lol
Dude, download what you want.. Just dont distribute it back out there.
Done deal.

it kinda depends on the media, like mp3's. Some bands put out mp3's of their tunes to promote themselves, while others get pissed if you do (think metallica)
Vista, need for speed, ms offices and other things like that are copywrited, and illegal to download.
People are trying to stop them, but due to torrents de-centralized nature it's difficult to nail one ring leader.

No most of the content u can dl from torrents are still Illegal Software . concidered warez. though full working it doesnt make them legal copy
the warez community uses various ways to distribute hacked software , Including but not limited to Ftp's,Torrents,File sharing networks like bearshare, kazza, usenet & Http file host like megaupload, rapidshare, and many others
So no im afraid most of the content of such sites are Illegal . but if ur using torrents to dl much of anything chances are its against the copywrite holders wishes .be its movies apps or games.
now u have to ask urself Do i Really Care :P

Torrents were created so that people could share their personal work with others over the Internet in an easy format.
People quickly realized that they could also upload copyrighted items illegally.
Unless it's shareware, freeware, or uncopyrighted, it probably is illegal.

Ha i asked a similar question about bit torrents maybe u wanna check it out. The answer is simple "yes it is illegal but NOT in all countries to my knowledge" i think in canada its legal idk. but DELETING THEM ISNT goin to make evidense go away. when u download that file the ppl that can view it can already see it. AND companies DO SUE. But there are so many ppl doing torrents and Limewire that companies dont see the Software they sue the user. SO yes u can get sued for alot of money. BUT there are so many ppl.....dat companies perfer to sue bigger downloaders because they get more money. SO if u download like once a week ull be mostly safe but if you download like 300000songs per day den RUN. lol. torrent make it possible to download almost any song, any movie, any software, and any game. but how u deal with it is ur prob.
