Personally I would not recommend it, if you read the label on the bag, the first 5 ingredients are what the food is made up of, pretty much fillers etc. If you are looking for a good quality dog food I would recommend any of the following:
Wellness
Merrick Pet Food
Natures Recipe
Percise
Nutro
California Natural
Innova
Solid Gold
Eukanuba
Petsmart carries a decent brand called Authority
Please remember when changing your pets food do it gradually over at least a 2 week period. 1/ of new to 2/3 of the previous food, for 5 days, then 1/2 to 1/2 for 5 days then 1/3 previous to 2/3 new for 4 days or so. Good Luck.

You want to stay away from foods with ingredients such as corn, wheat, fillers, beef and by products. All of those ingredients are hard for your dog or puppy to digest.
Some bad foods are Iams, Purina, Beneful, Alpo, Science Diet, Pedigree and Bil Jack.
Some GOOD foods are Natures Recipe, Nutro Max, Lassie and Royal Chain.
I personally recommend Natures Recipe. It is an all natural food and extremely healthy for your dog or puppy. It leads to a shinny coat and a healthy body. It also cuts down on shedding, bad breath and the amount of stool your dog produces.
Before switching foods you want to check with your vet and make sure your dog or pup has no health problems.
After that you want to switch him or her slowly otherwise it will make him or her sick.
You can find those healthy foods at your local Pet Smart or Pet Co.

Beneful is NOT a good dog food. It is loaded (even more then some other low quality foods) with cheap fillers, dyes and by products. It has very little meat protein. It is very high in carbohydrates. Dogs aren't grain eaters they are meat eaters, carnivores. Corn, wheat & soy are pretty indigestable for dogs. They are also high allergens. Corn & soy have been implicated as causing unexplained seizures in dogs. Soy causes excess gas. Beet pulp has no nutritional value and only serves to add unnecassary sugar to the diet.
There are far better foods out there that will give your dog much better nutritional value.

If you do an internet search for comparison of dog foods, you will find that Natural Balance is one of the top ten. My Poms have the most beautiful coats now. Beneful is poor quality. Go to Petco and ask for Natural Balance. It is Dick Van Pattons brand and has no by products or dyes and it is actually safe to eat yourself. It is only about a dollar more expensive than the others.

I don't think Beneful is a bad food. It will give your dog the nutrition he needs. But there are some better food out there, though they usually cost more. My favorite dog food is Nurto. It is a little more expensive, but it makes a huge difference in a dog's appearance. Their coat is very soft and shiny. And most dogs love it too. But this is just my opinion based on my experiences. Everyone is going to give you their opinion based on their experiences. I think Beneful is fine, I just like Nutro better.

There are better choices out there. In general, supermarket foods are lower quality with more preservatives, byproducts artificial flavors and colors and less actual meat and vegetables. I have found that these foods tend to trigger more allergies in my dogs.
I'd try one of the better quality feeds available at pet stores such as Nutro, Eukanuba, or Iams. There even more expensive superpremium foods as well, but I haven't seen any evidence with my own dogs that they do better with these foods.

No. Good foods are Wysong, Wellness, or Chicken soup, to name a few. Iams, science diet, nutro, beneful--these are all bad foods. Nutro and a few others actually have pentibarbital in them. This chemical is used to put dogs and cats to sleep (proof of rendered dog/cat meat in the kibble). It can cause problems in the dogs' organs.

As far as I know, I heard this is a pretty good dog food. Look at the ingredients. Just as a few tips, the first 3 ingredients should all be meat. Avoid corn as a high ingredient, but rice is a good grain to have. You don't want it to have preservatives, unless they're totally natural. Also avoid dyes.

I really do not like it because it doesn't have hardly any of the ingredients pictured on the package. If you are wanting a brand that you can buy at the grocery store (or just that isn't really expensive), I would go with Purina ONE. In my opinion it is the best you can get for what you pay for it.
If you look at the ingredients list (link below) the main ingredient is ground corn, followed by poultry by-product meal, and sugar is added to it ( 9th and 10th ingredients). With the Purina ONE, the main ingredients are lamb and rice.

I wouldn't feed my dog that stuff if ya paid me!!! Have you read the ingredients list?
- 4 types of dyes
- contains sugar and sorbitol (same as sugar)
- chicken by product meal (Consists of the dry, ground, rendered, clean parts of the carcass of slaughtered chicken, such as necks, feet, undeveloped eggs, and intestines -- exclusive of feathers except in such amounts as might occur unavoidably in good processing practices)
- contains phosphoric acid (A clear colorless liquid, H3PO4, used in fertilizers, detergents, food flavoring, and pharmaceuticals)
I use pretty much the same rule for dog food that I use on food for myself... if it contains more than a few ingredients I can't pronounce, I don't buy it!
