As someone who has been depressed and in a relationship there are two things you should do. One, have patience and give him his space, the last thing you want to be is a nag. Secondly, you should tell him that you still love him, despite his depression, that will help relief his stress over not being about to talk to you.
In the long run, if he doesn't open up, you should consider going to a more informed source, such as a counselor or a therapist to see if he can get help.

My boyfriend was depressed like that at one time but he is on medicine for it now and he has been on it for 6 years or so. I know meds aren't always the answer but my bf has had a complete turn around since he was put on medication. He needs to go to the doctor and talk to them about medication and ask about some therapy.

You need to but the cell phone down and talk to him face to face ask him what the problem is. Do this ASAP because you are probably aware that suicide is,unfortunately, becoming a more and more common result in male depression. It would help a lot to go to one of his favorite restuarantes. Good luck!

is he living with is parents...if so, you might tell thim if you suspect something is going on. has he been depressed for more than 2 weeks for no apparent reason or is he greiving with a real loss? you have to be there for him, and give him the support he needs...and for which he's probably not asking for. if he has a history of depresion, then he should consult a psychologist in order to get the best help out there.

Yeah, have you dropped by his place with a movie, a pizza and some rootbeer? See him face to face and ask him how has he been. If he is still chiller than 2 minutes in the Artic he needs professional help and he has to be willing to take that trip.

Though I only get it once in a blue moon, But when I do get it I prefer to be left alone o.O So maybe that's all he wants, I mean it's good that you're checking up on him and stuff, But he probably just wants some time to himself o.O

Been there! He's been dis'd by somehting. You need to be his Friend, for awhile. Don't go for the lovey-dovey stuff. He needs friendships. It can only make your Love, even stronger. Once he comes out of it. Time heals all wounds. Just be there.

Has anything major happened in his life lately? Has he been like this since u`v been dating? Let him know that u care and that u would like to help. If he won`t talk to u, maybe he will talk to someone else. I wouldn`t wait too long.
