Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't... you have lymph nodes everywhere and it all depends on the location and the type of infection.

I'm glad you had a blood test done, since non-painful lymph nodes can sometimes be indicitive of lymphoma/cancer...

You probably didn't have an infection in your lymph nodes but infections in other areas affecting your glandular system (upper respiratory infection, sinus infection, etc . . . . ) can cause your lymph nodes to swell and/or become anything from tender to exceptionally painful. If your lymph nodes hurt and now are just swollen that is probably a good sign that the infection is moving out and the swelling will subside over the coming days.

Regardless, smart of you to have the blood test and not rely on yahoo answers for your medical information though I know it helps to have information and validation from others who have experienced similiar things.

Take care!

Mine usually do, and then I know that I have an infection in that area of my body.
Glad to hear that you were smart enough not to wait for answers here and went to see a doctor for blood test.
