I am doing research for the pros and cons of immigration into Canada from other countries in the world. I am interested in hearing from those who have gone or are going through the process, as well as from Canadian citizens with opinions about the process.

I need specific positive reasons and specific negative reasons why someone should or should not immigrate to Canada. I am doing a paper for school and would like to add people's personal thoughts to this project.

Immigrating to Canada from the USA -
Cons
Generally prices and taxes are higher in Canada than the USA.
The medical system is not as reliable in Canada as in the USA, in most parts of Canada there are very long waits to see specialists, have some medical tests done, and having surgery. You can die waiting for surgery.
Canadians don't get to vote on as many issues as Americans do, so they have less say in what's going on.
Pros
Medical care is cheaper, not that it does you much good if you die waiting for it.
There's less chance of getting drafted into the military someday.
Good Luck on your reasearch!

Canadians cannot go through the process. It totally is dependent on why the person is trying to immigrate. It is different for everyone. Some are trying to get a better life. Some are terrorists and trying to get to the US through Canada. I would say that the reasons and responses are totally different for the two examples I gave.

Canada is much safer than the United States or other American countries. But winters in Canada are very brutal.

As far as Americans are concerned, if they want to
immigrate to Canada, our government isn't putting up
fences to keep them here. Good riddance.
