Humming Birds In Texas?

Just wondering when humming birds return to Fort Worth,TX. Have a lot of Robins and Bluejays around my yard. I was thinking maybe hummimg birds return in April.

Actually, I have a good friend who lives in Fort Worth that has Rufous Hummingbirds every winter at her feeder. They are unusual, but not super rare. The common hummingbirds, Black-chinned and Ruby-throats, begin to return the last week of March. You will see them at your feeders for a while, then they will disappear usually until late summer, after breeding.

They are such cool birds! Ruby-throated Hummingbirds fly all the way across the Gulf of Mexico. There is an old wives tail that hummingbirds migrate on the back of geese. This is totally false. They do it all on their own, which I find even more amazing!
