No. To be soul mates, you have to have a soul and soul is a religious concept.

Well, bibically yes...I do. Because God promises "For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper and to grow. Plans of a future, and a hope." I think having a husband/wife is defintly a promise because Eve herself was made as the "perfect" help-meet for adam! So yes, I believe in soul mates.....
And, to answer the question of what is a soul mate....he/she is someone who God picked out even before you were born, to be your husband/wife. a soul mate, is that someone that God has seen fit to say "this is the person you will marry." Now, not all people are called to marriage, Paul told us this serveral times. So don't think that "everyone has a soul mate" But the ones that do get married, I believe that if it is true love, that they have let God pick out their mate for....than that person...that mate, is truely their soul mate!
I doubt I made a lot of sense....but I am only trying to help:-) View soul mates as what you are to God, you are litterally his soul mate....he has been seeking you out since before you were born....and he knows you like no one else ever can! HE loves you with no conditions, and treasures you in a way mortals cannot. Someday your future husband...or perhaps you are already married.... Will treat you like God treats the church. You won't just love you....he will cherish you!
God bless you

No. We can be close and have that feeling with anybody if you love them enough and get to know them enough.
The idea of a soul mate rests on the idiotic notion that you will only be ultimately happy with just 1 such person specially created for you. Men and women are meant to be together but the fact is we do clash after we come together. There is no such thing as a perfect marriage or perfect relationship. After 2-3 years that puppy love people have for each other wears off and reality sets in. After that happens, you find out just how strong your marriage really is and how strong you are as a person. (if it lasted that long) If people are marrying because they think it is going to make them happy theyre in for a huge shock. Marriage and children bring joys not question but they also bring a ton of work and heartache. Marriage doesnt make your life better, just more complicated!
True joy and fullfillment unfortunately is not attained through marriage or any sort of pursuing the opposite sex. True joy and fullfillment come from having faith in God and only he can give your life meaning and purpose.

I believe the terminology is through around so much that no one can really define what it is. i think the perfect example of a soul mate is when a elderly married couple die together on the same die that is a soul mate, or when you meet someone for the first time and your heart flutters

I believe that out of 6 billion occupants on this planet, there are about 1000 people (I am just grabbing numbers) that one person of the opposite, or the same sex, that that one person can partner with.
Besides, how many "soulmates" have you known through your lifetime to end up in divorce? I know of, at least, a handful of such couples.
"Soulmates" and "fate", in my opinion, does not exist.

I guess someone that you meet and instantly you have a connection. Since I'm weird, I don't think that is true for me.(Let me edit this, this WILL be true later on.) But there are people with the same interest as me. I think the question is...Is there someone out there for everybody?
