First, there is no deductible for the liability portion of your car insurance. The deductible only applies to damage to your car under your Comprehensive and Collision coverages. That means if you put the claim in under your insurance you pay nothing for the damage to the car.
That said, your premiums will go up for having an At-Fault accident. How much and for how long depends on the company, coverages and discounts you now have. Most that I have seen surcharge your policy for 3 years for an accident. Since you have been with your company for 8 years I doubt you'd get cancelled.
Have another accident in that three year period, though, and your rates will likely skyrocket and you can risk cancellation.
All that said, this is what you have insurance for. If there was only $500 damage, I might consider just paying the damage. In this case, though, I'd put in the claim.
Good luck!

RE :Should I file an claim with my auto insurance?
I haven't had any claims on my auto insurance and I've been with them for 8 years. I backed into a parked car (no body in it) and the estimate to fix it is $2360. My deductible is $500 and there was no damage done to my truck. Should I file a claim or pay out of pocket.

You must have been backing up with some force to do that much damage. In either case, your deductible only applies to damage to your vehicle unless you have a deductible on your liability coverage (not usual). If you have a good driving record up to now and there were no other circumstances like driving while impaired when the accident happened, it shouldn't have too much of an affect on your insurance. The owner of the damaged car has a right to proceed against your insurance policy so you need to file a report immediately. Also, by having your insurance handle it, they can determine if the damage being claimed is all a direct result of the accident and not an effort by the claimant to restore his car at your expense. Let them handle it and watch where you're going in the future

Well I think it was pretty honest of you to stick around waiting for the owner since he or she wasn't in the car.
If you pay out of pocket you're going to take an $1800 dollar loss by paying out of pocket and skipping the insurance process.
The choice of what to do is yours, but I would suggest using the insurance. It won't go up the $1800 you're going to be dishing out otherwise.

File the claim, the surcharge over 3 years will be less than the cost of the repairs. Take defensive driving and ask about any other available discounts and it will hurt even less.

ahhh people kill me!! are you really considering paying 1860 extra dollars out of YOUR pocket (plus the cost of the other persons car) to not report it to insurance?!?
Do you REALLY think your premium is going to raise over 1860 dollars over the next few years? People just crack me up! YES report it! You have insurance for a reason. there is NO WAY your premium is going to go up thousands of dollars.
Why would you put yourself through that?

1 claim in 8 years should not be a big problem, go ahead and turn it in and let them make the person you hit happy.
