Why is it important for medicine to be kept in their original container?

It's not important to preserve the medicine, but it's important for legal issues. If you are taking the medicine with you to school or the workplace, it's important to have it in the original container so that people don't question what kind of pills you have. Schools definitely always need medicine to be in the original container so they can be sure students aren't taking anything harmful. Also, if it's medication that the school nurse will be distributing, she needs to be sure that the exact medication she is giving belongs to the student she is giving it to.

Obviously I wouldn't recommend pouring cough syrups and liquid medicines into other containers because it would be time-consuming and messy, and also because of all the reasons listed above.

sometimes the container protects the medicine some compounds break down when exposed to light and become ineffective mostly its so you don't take 10 Tylenol because you think your taking 10 vitamins and your liver dies

so that people dont take the wrong medication.its dangerous when u put pills in a wrongly labeled container because not everyone knows that you have changed its content.

so you can remember what strength the pill is
so you can remember if you're supposed to eat before taking, etc
so you can remember what the expiration date is
so you can remember how many refills are left

so you know how much to charge
