Too bad...you get an answer from me. The reason STDs are widespread is because of unprotected sex. However, that the actual diseases exist on Earth is a result of evolution (oooh....I know you don't like my answer now!) Microbes have been far more efficient at adapting than other species. If they can find easy access into a host, they will do just that.

Tabby. you almost aced it . it is not because we are having unprotected sex, it is because we are having perverse/unnatural sex. Verse 9 conveys this thought well enough. It also stipulates that people who misuse our bodies by practicing perverted sex and then refuses to ever repent of it will not enter the kingdom of heaven. And yes tman God chastises those whom he loves. And he chastises out of love in hopes of turning their behavior around.
Disease is one of his ways of chastisement ,such as aids. It is referred to in the bible by words that mean " THE FEVER".
I know some people get aids through no fault of their own. But if as a society we we break God's laws we suffer as a society. don't blame God. In that way we ARE our brothers keeper.

Why ask a stupid question and then demand responses only from uneducated people?????
I somehow doubt that pancreatic cancer, lung cancer, Hogkins disease, Parkinson's or MANY MANY other diseases are caused by unprotected sex.
Perhaps you should have asked only about the myriad of sexually transmitted diseases....not ALL diseases.

Yeah because "misuse" of the body creates new diseases (sarcasm). I'm not christian, sorry I answered. And it's not based on your pretend book either, sorry again.

Well it's a definite explanation for the spread of them.
But let me put in my plug here that protected sex (using a condom) isn't all that safe as people make it sound. I've known a handful of couples who have gotten pregnant despite using a condom and sperm are much larger in size than viruses.

i think sex was meant to be unprotected. The scripture basically says that we have all this diseases because we did thing out of the ordinary. (ie. bestiality, homosexuality, ect.)
