Liver toxicity is not an issue when taking only a couple pills that one needs to clear up a fungal infection. ANY topical medication will get absorbed into your blood stream.

If you don't clear up that infection, your blood stream will reach toxic levels anyhow. The fungus will get into your blood stream and then you'll have bigger problems. Unchecked infections CAN kill you. Get some Lamasil from your doc. It's a couple pills. Really.

You can get topical treatments from the drug store, but they're not as effective as pills and may not work especially if you have left this problem untreated for a while and the fungus has spread.

This IS a contagious condition as well.

I know people who swear by Vicks Vaporub rubbed nightly on the toenails. My brother used it and he says it cured his toenail fungus. I've read other remedies that include things like tea tree oil, Listerine, vinegar and even plain old nail polish.
