The best way to get rid of constipation is to drink a 20 oz bottle of citrus green tea once a day, until your first bowel movement and then continue with one every other day. It is a very good laxative and It helps your bowels move normal. It is a herbal drink and it has a great taste.You can usually buy it in your nearest grocery store.you can also buy it in a powder mix, but to me the already made in a 20 oz bottle is the best.Try it you want regret it.

To get rid of constipation, be sure to get enough fiber in their diet, to drink enough fluid each day, eat fruit instead of drinking the juice alone. If more help is needed, eat a few stewed prunes or drink a glass of hot prune juice. Stool softeners may be taken if necessary but it's dangerous to get in the laxative habit.

Is this a one time occurrence or an on going condition?
For one time, try eating corn or popcorn (please drink a lot of water with this), raisins or prunes. Or take an over the counter laxative.
If this is an on-going condition, you need to increase your fiber intake. Try adding high fiber foods to each meal: Breakfast (raisin bran or bran muffins), Lunch and Dinner (eat a high fiber salad or sandwich on whole wheat bread). Also add more fruits and vegetables general because they are high in fiber.
