Oprah's big "The Secret" program really annoyed me. What do Christians, clergy or others involved in religion or church have to say about this "new" idea?

"The Secret" is a DVD you can buy to "discover" how to receive love, joy, happiness, have a happy marriage, get out of debt-
"The Secret" as the law of attraction, which is the principle that "like attracts like." ..."the most powerful law in the universe," and says it is working all the time. "What we do is we attract into our lives the things we want, and that is based on what we're thinking and feeling,"
(it has nothing to do with God or religion- this woman "discovered" the NEW concept) IF you buy the DVD you can learn all about forgiveness, positive thinking, letting go of the past, and how "the choices we make are fueled by our thoughts—which means our thoughts are the most powerful things we have here on earth."

And "everything in the world is made up of energy, which is controlled by [our] thoughts and feelings."

I think I found it annoying because I've been making a huge effort to lead a different life, and include religion, Jesus, God, church, and understand. Now I see this "Secret" and it seems to render God as unnecessary.

Much like Buddhism, "The Secret" is not in conflict with Christianity. It is at such time that we attribute the "miracle" to something other than the Father that it will be in conflict. You will be in danger of blasphemy of the spirit if credit is given to someone other than Jesus (God). Just like Daniel giving credit to God for the interpretation of the dream.

Jesus wishes that we are all abundant. Don't forget that part of "The Secret" is to be grateful for what you already have, and to believe in faith that you are moving in the direction of "your" vision.

It's your ultimate decision. You either choose life, or you choose death. There is no "in between". Satan has deceived the whole world. He can easily deceive you. You are no match for an evil spirit that has lived a1000 lifetimes. Look how your talking already. He has already deceived you. God is the ONLY power there is that can reveal his weakness to you by bringing you out of the darkness of the lie into the light of the truth. Nothing else. You can't because you don't even see it, let alone understand it. You are powerless. You are his prey. You are easy pick-ens for a powerful supernatural spiritual being who is hell-bent on destroying your soul right before your very eyes. His demons are all around you and everybody all the time watching you and taunting you through subtle messages of influence in your thoughts and actions. You are completely and utterly powerless against those attacks without the help of God. God gave you free will to choose your own destiny. I hope you choose wisely

I have never heard of this but I don't pay any attention to Oprah. It doesn't suprise me though, the sad part is that she claims to be a born again Christian. I guess the fact that she is living in a sinful relationship without being married for many years has nothing to do with Christian values. But what can you expect with all the wishy washy preachers and christians out there. She will probably sell millions and church going people will praise her for it.

HELLO.they are not saying that it has nothing to do with God or religion, in fact, quite the opposite, they are saying that sciencee and religion are describing the same things, that this new "Law" of the universe is a true thing, doesnt mean that it couldnt have been God or Allah or Vishnu who put it there, but its there..dont disregard other stuff at first look plz.

he isn't unnecessary if you dont wish him to be
he can be part of this ... perhaps just not in the way you have been taught
but God is the source ... the energy we come from and go back to
he may not be this omnipotent being ... but i believe he is there none the less
there is nothing wrong with seeking your own answers about religion ... if things dont make sense for you then get rid , if things make sense for you then adopt
but even biblical we can see this karmic thing going on when we are told to reap what we sow
perhaps you dont have to change too much eh ?

The Secret is principles and are what you make of it. You CAN ABSOLUETLY include your religion in the aspect of the secret. i personally am practicing the secret's priciples and continuing to pursue my christian religion. the secret is not new, it has been around for thousands of years and to be honest oprah is just about the last one to discover this...millions already have. If you learn the secret and understand it correctly you could actually use it to improve your religion ;). People are just skeptical of something that they do not fully understand ;) please feel free to email me at shelbymustang@hotmail.com for more info!

This is no secret. This is proven in physics under the right circumstances. And spoken to in many many religions, psychology offices and drumming circles. It is proven in daily life.

The real "secret" is how much $$$$ this person is making for Oprah "revealing" the "secret".
