He will start kindergarten during the 2007/2008 school year (or August/September 2007). Most school districts cut-off birthday is September 1st (not always, so call your zoned school) and children must be 5 (on or before that date) in order to start kindergarten.
Make sure that he has all his immunizations or if you have chosen not to have them, you have all the proper documention. You should call your school district and see when registration for kindergarten is. There usually is a registration time in the spring and then again in the summer before school starts.

Most schools give a deadline depending on your area and country and or state. Usually at the end of september. Your child will probably be kinder age, here in the states pre k starts usually at age four or five depending on the birthday. Kinder age five or six. So if your childs b day is after sept it would be the later age for both. I don't even know if I am making sense.

My son was almost 6 before he started school. The school actually recommended that he waited as long as possible because boys have a shorter attention span and don't do well in school at an early age. Boys are more physical so they have a hard time sitting and listening. Good luck and don't worry I had to call my sons school to find out. The school is used to questions like that and feel free to call them.

Most schools require children to be 5 by the summer before Kindergarten. So in your son's case he wouldn't start school til he's 5 1/2, almost 6. You could put him in preschool anytime you want.

It really all depends upon how socially mature your kid is.
My sister's youngest started kindergarten at the age of 4 - but he was (and still is) rather advanced for his age. And socially he could handle anything. But my sister's youngest started at 5 because he was much less socially mature, and couldn't stand the separation from mom.
Speak to your doctor, as well as the school. They will be able to give you some hints, as well as their advice on what they think. But the decision is ultimately yours. Remember, though - if you start them too early, it could be harmful to them down the line.
Good luck!!

I am not sure when school starts in your state but in Oregon school starts in September and I think the cut off here is when school starts if they are 5 they can be in K. But anything younger they have to go to pre-school.
So I would say that since your son won't be 5 until November he will have to wait until the next school year to start K.
That is not a stupid question so don't worry its ok. I was confused about it too until my daughter actually started school.

It depends on what state you live in. Here in California, a child entering kindergarden must turn 5 before Dec. 3. So in this state he could go to kindergarden this year. My oldest went to preschool at 4 and kindergarden at 5, her birthday is Oct. 1. Hope this helps.

It all depends on the area that you live at. You need to contact the elementary school you intend to send your child to and find out what the cutoff is. It could range anywhere from Aug-Jan. He is old enough for pre-school, but the kindergarten will depend on if he makes the cutoff or not. But most kids start when they are 5.

It depends on where you live. Call your local school district and ask what their cutoff date is. Where I live it's the first of Sept. They will let your child take a test, which you have to pay for, to see if they can start a year earlier.

Not until he's ready. If he's 5 right before the cut-off, I'd wait for another year.
You could talk to a child counselor and have them give you some guidelines or readiness testing for your son.
