My son is a Junior in High School, he has always had some problems with his academics . His Guidance counselor just informed him, that he is lacking 1 credit for next year to graduate. She says he doesn't have the room to put in another class. So he would not graduate with his class, and would have to wait for the following year, after he went to school for 1 credit. What do you think I should do? He is missing an art credit, I am told.

If that school makes him repeat an entire year for one credit, they will be wasting a lot of money. Also, this is something that should've been brought to your attention first, not your son's. This should've also been brought to your attention last year. I would go to the principal about this issue, and if that doesn't work, to the school board. There has to be something the school can do for 1 lousy credit.

Find out about summer school classes. I'm not really sure how they work, but if you talk to your son's school counselor she should know and point you in the right direction.
