Even somewhat smart can be stupid. Without ambition intelligence is pointless and waisted.

Well just like a wings are the key to the flying of the bird, so is ambition the key to intelligence. I can be the smartest dude on the planet, and if I don't have a strong desire to do anything with that knowledge and I don't apply that knowledge at all then my intelligence is pretty much useless. A little knowledge that acts is worth infinitely more than much knowledge that is idle.

If you have intelligence but no ambition then you will not succeed like a bird without wing will not fly.

I know exactly what this quote means because I look a perfect example of it in the face daily. My brother is a genius. He has a 150-160 IQ but he has absolutely no ambition to do anything with it. He delivered pizzas for pizza hut but now he is a stay at home dad to his stepsons. There are so many incredible things he could accomplish in science but he has no ambition to do so. Intelligence is pointless if you have no ambition to do anything with it. It makes me sad to see someone who is so smart do so little to help the world.

A person has to have the ambition and the drive to use their intelligence to do great things. It's one thing to be smart, but it's another to use that to create change and progress.

intelligence is wasted if there is no ambition, and the one thing that sets birds apart is their ability to fly, so its just another animal if it cant fly. An intelligent person is just another person if they dont use their gift

It's like pointing a missle without a target. I know a guy who had damn near 180 IQ and is a janitor. I mean, being a janitor is an honest clean living, but think of what the guy could do with his brain, he might find a cure for cancer!

Jack of all trades, master of none.It 's not a bad thing, just implies you have it. You choose what you want to do. There are plenty of things I can do to better my paycheck or life, Alot of them I don't have any ambition for, but what I do, I do well.
