The question could be more generalized including other religions cause to fear The God/Allah keeps humans in peace and love and within the limits of morality. He is merciful, keeping his mercy foremost in mind helps man to be hopeful, and this in turn increases the desire to act righteously. However, what is equally important to keep within context is fear. Hope and fear are like the wings of a bird, and a believer has to keep them balanced. If people didn't fear the God they would start killing each other. However there is the case that some immoral people that lead the world have taken advantage of the fear of God and in the name of HIM control our minds and try to externminate us, but this is another story...

Thereis no fear of allah. There may be a fear of what allah represents. If you do not follow allah,
you are sub-human and must be put to the sword. allah is the god of the moon & stars, that is why there is a cresent moon & a star on the flag. My God Jesus created the other gods along with everything else. Did anyone ever see allah come back to life? Which is greater? The Creator, or the creation. How many good, descent people ars being deceived by this so called religion? So many questions, and the answers are out there. You just have to look for them!

What they mean by fearing allah is somewhat the same as christianity mentality of God fearing. But in islams case they also mean that non-muslims, must submit to Allah/Islam. Islam gives non-muslims three choices: conversion, death, or subjugation to dhimmi status (second class citizen forbidden to preach their religion) The word Islam itself mean submission.

Well i can only speak for myself but as a muslim "fear of Allah" is simply he is the judge of all and what you do with your thoughts and intentions and actions are for him and him alone to judge you. You see its not just about fearing Allah its about loving him, respecting him, praising him and fearing him. To fear in the sence that he has clearly laid out how he wants us to live and worship and as muslims we follow what Allah wants with love and fear, love that we know he is all providing and we are loved by him and want to please him, fear that we know he is the final judge and he is true to his word he says he is going to punish those who go against his will and we try our best to live within the will that Allah wants. Allah loves us and says we are closer to him than the jugular vein, that he is the most merciful and most forgiving. But to live your life as if "oh its OK ill be forgiven and i have a guaranteed place in heaven" well if only it where that simple. We have to live our lives with fear of Allah in that "I have to work hard and try my best, have a true heart with honest intentions and to worship and praise Allah like he wants. I have no guaranteed place in heaven and have to prove myself worthy of a place". It kind of like that same way you love your father but you still fear him dont you? That you dont want to disapoint him or make him ashamed of you, that is the "fear of Allah" simple.

Taqwa (fear of Allah) is accepting all the Commands of Allah and His Prophet p.b.u.h., behaving according to them, fearing Allah in secret as well as in public, at night time as well as during the day, in darkness as well as in the light. Since Allah knows what is apparent and what is hidden. Taqwa is purifying oneself from all bad acts. Taqwa is a state of the heart felt by the heart rather than pronounced by the tongue. Taqwa is accepting all the Commands of Allah and His Prophet, behaving according to them, fearing Allah in secret as well as in public, at night time as well as during the day, in darkness as well as in the light.
Since Allah knows what is apparent and what is hidden.
