Yes. Otherwise you will be left with unspreadable chunk of mushed peanuts. There are two thoughts on the oil: stir it every time and keep it in the cupboard or stir it once and keep it in the refridgerator. I prefer the warm peanut butter kept in the cupboard. I like the ritual of having to stir it everytime.

yes there nothing wrong with it. if u dont ur peanut butter will dry out. it just set to long is all.

Since it is all natural, I don't think that it would hurt.
It may help the consistency of the p.b. especially when spreading it.
