If you're interested in getting more HD channels, I'd switch to DirecTV pretty soon. They've signed contracts with a bunch of networks (FX, Food Network, A&E, Sci-Fi, Cartoon Network, just to name a few) to provide their channels in HD. Supposedly they will add over 100 national HD networks to their lineup by the year's end. The first channels should start appearing this Spring. They've already launched a bunch of satellites and are launching a couple more this year; they have way more bandwidth than any other Satellite or Cable company now.
It should be an awesome amount of HD sweetness....
