Hi, I just wanted to know how reliable one of those ads are where they are selling little puppies. I found an ad where someone was selling teacup yorkies and contacted her. She let me know that her's were sold but she has a client who she had sold to previously and she needs to adopt out those yorkies. The reason is that she works with a HIV/AIDs organization sponsored by World Health Organisation(WHO) and World Bank and this person has moved to Nigeria. They want for me to send them money through western union for the shipping and they'll have the puppies sent to me. Does this sound ligit? Has anyone done this before and was it sucessful? Please let me know, thanks!

The puppies are not mailed, they are shipped through the airlines and picked up there too. They stated that the puppy will be sent with: They are upto date on all shots/wormings,alongside shipping would be certified health certificates, complete vaccination and worming records,AKC registration certificate, rabies shots,USDA papers and their one year health guarantee,a puppy pack including sample of food they have been eating,a tube of nutri-calthay.

No! Don't send them a penny! If you are looking to adopt check out some places on the web (I'm sure you'll get a few answers with links in them) and check shelters in your area.
Good luck!
Edited to add... It is highly unlikely they would be sending the dog overseas, unless they are charging you an arm and a leg. I find it hard to believe they would actually send you one not only for cost but the trouble that follows sending a dog overseas. Vet checks and what not mean absolutely nothing as the dog would need to be quarantined for a couple weeks and checked in the States for a ton of different diseases and such.

I work at a dog kennel. This deal sounds fishy to me. When we give dogs away for what ever reason, it is always local. The cost of health certs and what not is too much to fly out a free dog (and flying a dog out is a pain in the neck as is). If I were you I would look into a reputable kennel and just buy a puppy. Also, teacup yorkies are not a good dog to have, they are very fragile and have a shorter life expectancy. Get a yorkie if you want a yorkie, they are not that big in the first place.

No, this does not sound right. A responsible breeder or pet owner would not send the animal by mail.
Also, there is no way to know that they will actually send the dog after you pay them?
With all dogs, you want to see and inspect the puppy before you buy it. You should also have it checked by your vet and the breeder should offer you a money back guarantee if the dog does have health problems. Usually, they give you a couple days to get the dog checked out.
Anyways, this does not sound like a good idea to me.

IT IS A SCAM!!!!!!
Do not EVER send money by Western Union to purchase a puppy! There have been a lot of scams lately (even in newspapers) for free puppies, you just have to pay shipping. They will have you send them a money order, and you will never receive anything. Lately they have been doing these scams with Yorkies, Maltese, Bulldogs, and French Bulldogs.

NEVER SEND MONEY TO PEOPLE LIKE THIS!! A lot of scamers say they are in Nigeria. That word alone should tell you that it's a scamer. Go to craigslist.com (watch out for scamers there too) and try to find a dog to adopt there, or petfinder.com.

It is not legit!! Run, don't walk, as fast as you can. Also, there is no such thing as 'teacup' either. When you see teacup, you can usually predict tremendous health problems in these dogs, or it is a trick to get your attention to their ad, since most people who are not aware of this and want 'teacup' dogs will respond.
To find a reputable breeder go to: http://www.dogs.about.com
Their site is great and very informative. Good Luck.

No, this probably is a scam. If you want to trust them, tell them to send the puppies first. If they say no, it's a scam. I doubt that puppies could be sent, it's so inhumane though...

Oh my Gosh - PLEASE don't send these people any of your money!!!!!
I get emails like this all the time from people who supposedly want to buy one of my Collies - even though I don't have any advertised for sale.
They are complete scams of course.

I would check out paypal, see if she would accept payment thata way. I am pretty sure that Items bought through paypal are insured and thata way you would have a "paper" trail of payment and can pursecute her if no puppy arrives!
Oh yeah, and there are teacup yorkies, I have one. He is only 3 lbs!

Does not sound legit. Keep your money. Go to the ASPCA/SPCA and adopt a dog.
