Becouse it would be pretty fieakin hard to try to take a round pizza out of a round box.

You can get a square pizza....
which can fit in a square box but not a round one
you can get a round pizza which will fit in both
make square boxes!!

They didn't use to. They use to come in round ones, but as people have said, it is probably easier to produce a square box.

It is far easier and more cost-effective to mass produce items that require right angle cuts than round cuts. Like boxes.

Sqaure boxes are not only easy for making, but also increase storage capacity and conveinance. This is all economic sense. You may be surprised that in Japan they grow square water melons just because of this reason.
