I am a gay man in the army. Been to Iraq twice, Afghanistan once, all in the past four years. I'm an Infantry Combat Medic. I work on the front lines. It's all male, we sleep, shower, and **** together. It doesn't bother the people I work with because one, I'm good at being a medic and two, I very good soldier. Why should being gay be a bar, if gay people often out do their straight counter parts.

Don't ask, Don't tell and it usually helps not to hit on them. I don't think it should matter personally. And to most people with half a brain it's not a character flaw. Just do your job and keep pleasure and business separate. That's how it should be regardless of your orientation. Thank you for you service.

well, government worry too much about emotional psychological state of the gay. Like for example, if you like this guy in the force and he suddenly gets with another girl in the military, you can be in emotional distress. Beside, these laws are based on religion, where the marriage of men and women is acceptable not the same sex. So basically it inter meets politics and laws, instead of social part of the military. Personally, I don't mind if an gay was in the force. I think every gay should step up and revolt against this discrimination. Our government is unfair.

they dont ask and you dont tell. i dont really have a problem with gays serving in the military aslong as they are a good soldier which you sound like you are. just aslong as you dont start to have strong feelings for other men you work with. dont worry about wether you are gay or not and just worry about your job. keep up the good work
