The white variation that is marketed today as 'Milky Way' was first released under a different name in the 90s. For some reason, the milk chocolate Milky Way was discontinued and the white version was rebranded as 'Milky Way'.

It's always been the "nougat" stuff as long as i can remember, WAY before the 1970's. Milk chocolate is what the outer part is, "chocolate". You can have it solid chocolate or it'd just be chocolate with a bit of caramel inside. A Milkyway bar has always been the same as a Snickers but without peanuts.

Don't get me started on this!

You can buy something similar to the old skool Milky Way, been around for years, it's called Flyte. Although I havn't seen that for a while either sadly.

To me it tasted just like the old one!

Baron Von Party: That's the American version is it not? This is the UK one here which had a darker centre. Seems that we can't help copying the yanks now, whatever happened to Marathon!?!?!? ;)

I haven't had one for a few years but going back as far as I can remember which would be about 35 years they were always a creamy coloured fluffy rectangle covered in milk chocolate. Like a mars bar but without the caramel part.

I liked the original. Don't like this Milky Way, so I don't buy it.

well i shared one fairly recently with my husband and i couldnt eat it...........it was much sweeter than i remeber. it was then that he pointed out that the filling used to be dark and not that white sickly stuff.

deffinately not a treat that can now be eeaten between meals without ruining oones appetite.
