Well if it is a good thing that depends on if you like her or not. I occasionally look at a guy then pretend that I didn't see him if it's a guy that I like and if I am with my friends. Sounds like she might have been trying to play cool around you cause she might like you. Then again there is a possibility that she was looking at something past your head starring off in space and then noticed you saw her then she turned away. All it points to is that most likely she likes you. So yes to answer your question girls get shy around the guy that she likes.

yeah girls usually get shy around guys they like, thats usually a good thing if she tried to pretend she didnt, it means she was looking at you, then noticed u looking and didnt want u to think that she was staring or anything cuz shes shy so yeah thats a good thing=]

:P Well, if you know she likes you, then don't be alarmed. I do this all the time because I'm weird like that.
Maybe you should initiate a conversation. That would get something started. :) If she's shy like that, then chances are she's intimidated by you.

some girls do, but not always, it can depend on circumstances, and how intimidating you are. like if you're a realy good looking guy it can be intimidating,. or she may be just a shy person

actually yes. girls do get shy around the guys they like. just start talking to her, find out what she likes, then hang out with her, if she smiles and laughs she likes you. if you ever catch her looking at you, then she looks away, she likes you alot.
