There will be a new heavens and earth formed in the future. If you are a true Bible-believing born again ( see John 3:3) Christian, you would realize that trying to save the earth is pointless. God will make it all new again.
He will return well before the earth has 'globally warmed' to a point where it is uninhabitable.

When I talk to my Christian friends about climate change they say they're not worried about it because its all in God's hands. So it seems that many Christians don't want to do anything about the environment.

they are too busy trying to end the world so that they can get to paradise faster that's just a sick thing and i think that the pagans and those who love the earth have the right idea about trying to protect this planet

Yes, but most people also don't mind destroying portions of the o-zone in efforts to get to a destination faster--me included.
If anything, we should be making better ways--cleaner ways--to do the things we do.

Many Xians are waiting for the rapture, or looking forwards to death and the paradise that will bring for them. Why would they care about the Earth? The Earth is where the non-believers are going to be left.

I consider myself both a Christian (although not what you would call a fervent, charismatic one) AND an environmentalist.
I do what I can to ease my load upon the environment.
I have a grandson. I would like to do my part to leave this planet in as good of shape as possible.

Unfortunately man Christians actually think this earth was put here for them to live on. and that everything is here only for their benefit, so they don't think they need to take care of it.
Glad to see you're one of the more enlightened ones.
