I went to the salon the other day and I told them I wanted red hair, which I love to have. I have natural dark brown hair, and any shade of red normally looks great on me. The only thing is they made me so intensely bright red, but the intensity is only at the top of my head. The rest of my hair is a "blah" brownish-red color. Also, they somehow talked me into blonde highlights at the top of my head, which I hate but decided to keep.. They'll grow out fast enough.
Today I went back to the salon and they tried to even it all out for me, but it all still kinda looks the same.
I'm figuring that the best thing I can do is to make the red not so intense. I know red fades quickly on its own, but is there anything I can do to make it fade even more quickly?! Help.. please.. :(
I feel like I'm going to cry.. I also have really pale skin so it looks even brighter on me.. I feel like a clown or something..
And my birthday is on Monday.. !

If Lemon Juice is a natural lightener, then why would I want to put it on my hair to make it lighter if I am trying to make it not so bright? I'm confused.. I'll have to research that a little more...

HOPE THIS HELPS...

Hot water is notorious for fading chemically colored hair. Some volume shampoos and gels like Matrix Amplify and related products may also help fade color faster because it is designed to blow open the hair cuticle which sometimes accelerates hair color loss. Hot extra virgin olive oil and some commercial oil treatments will also help to strip chemically applied color. An old trick of colorists is to shampoo with Prell shampoo which is known for its color striping talents.

Don''t assume that it will remove your unwanted hues. It will help fade your color which may or may not be a good thing. While this may or may not be a good option for quickly moving past unwanted temporary or demi-perm colors, it may actually accentuate a bad shade on permanently applied color.

There's something at Sally's that resists fading...It helps it not fade, I have 2 streaks of red in my hair right now, I dyed it yesterday. I used Manic Panic in Vampire Red, I LOVE THAT COLOR SO MUCH. I'll probably dye all my hair that color when I'm a lil bit older, lol. Cause it's soo pretty. If you have blonde hair, then it'll be bright and won't fade for months. To answer your question, I would say it's false for MY HAIR. Everyone has different hair textures. Hope I Helped ~*Angela*~

Use a semi permanent color - so you don't over process on top of the abuse the last 2 doses of color have subjected your hair to.

try a color pulse, it will wash out in like 3 washes, but get a different color, like brown or sumthing to get it more dull. you can most likly see the red in it if you get a medium to likght brown, but it will dull down the red
