as a big flirt, should I take any stock in what she's saying about my friend? Or should I just take her out and see if she's all talk and no action?

Sure take her out, but from my personal experience when they flirt alot, they just flirt.... once it time to get jiggy with it.... bah... She could be different though.... give it a shot...

ask her to meet you somewhere that way if you become disgusted you wont have any tricky time to drive time in the car wishing you had got her a cab....
