I'm a young, single parent and I cannot fathom ever harming my child. What are some ways that I could possibly assist in the prevention of child abuse, child neglection, and baby/child killing? Every time I read in the news that a newborn was tossed in the trash or left out in the cold to die it brings me to tears and I don't want to just sit here and not do anything, but I'm not sure where I should start. Obviously people can take measures to not become pregnant if they're not ready to be a parent, but we hear that all the time. People with serious, respectful answers would be appreciated! Thanks! =)

I don't mean I'm having problems with my child, I mean..how can I help in a group or whatever to prevent these things from happening to children?

Experts say that the biggest key to prevention is education. Perhaps you could get involved in your community somehow. Become a volunteer or a mentor to other parents and children.

Ok, well for me when I feel that I am getting to stressed out I ask for help, If your child is miss behaving then you should try time outs just because you are a parent don't never let anyone tell you that you do not need a break every once in a while from the kids so if you are stressed just ask your family for help

You could become a CASA volunteer. They make sure that a child's rights and needs are looked out for during court proceedings.
