i think self-confidence comes from experiencing success and/or achieving goals. it's all about self-perception. if we see ourselves as a failure, no matter what others may say, we will have low self-confidence.. likewise, if we are happy with ourselves, whether it be looks or personality, we will feel good and have confidence.

external factors also play a role. i have been rejected by mane women in my life, and this has hurt me badly..

self confidence is a chemical reaction of your testosterone, and everything else that is everything good in a man. It's when the ego is stroked and you've done a great job or won the contest or was voted the best. It's all about putting out, practicing to be the best and when the game is on the line proving you're the best. Confidence comes form crushing your opponents so succinctly that they never want to play against you ever again.

its a mixture of both, but if you don't have "the looks" it is something that you build up over time.
