Well at least you are thinking. This is a hoax, why am I so sure. I look at the scientists that are saying that it is and that they have nothing to gain for saying the truth. THese "scientists" that say mankind are the cause for this are getting grant money and have an agenda. There is a climatologist that is the head one for Oregan, and he is going to get fired because he says the climate is changing as part of a natrual progression for earth. According to the GOvenor of Oregan that doesn't line up with the way that he wants that state to function. This is ALL political. China produces more harmful emmisions from their country wide coal burning that would take 2 billion SUV's to duplicate, and I believe that currently there are only a few million in the world. And funny enough China is exempt from the Keuoto (sp?) Treaty. In the treaty if you want to polute more then you have to buy "Credits" from other countries to do so. It is all about shifting wealth. This is so sad that the serioulsy flawed science behind it. Anybody who believes in global warming is a lemming. THe LIberal Media is pushing forward Thier radical agenda whether there is sound facts or not. THere are more credible scientists who do not believe that global warming is caused my man. ANd when I say global warming I am saying that the earth has raised .6 degrees celcius in the past 125 years. This is all about the grant money and the tearing down of America. People believe it because they get all of thier news in 60 second sound bytes and mostly from agenda driven media. Follow the money of Global warming someone is getting rich, and when the majority for Americans see the truth it will be too late because we will be taken over by terrorists because we have no back bone. WAKE UP AMERICANS

AFRICAN KILLER BEES! Remember them? I can still recall hearing on the news that parts of Texas may have to be evacuated, thousand of people to be stung to death, etc, etc. yada, yada, yada. The Y2K bug is *the* classic example though. The answers from the warmists that 'it's only because we fixed it that it wasn't a problem" show their ignorance. France and Japan both did pretty much nothing about it and looked on in amazement as the US & UK went nuts. They were fine, so were we, but had spent billions and frightened the c**p out of the more suggestible sections of the public. Here's a couple of quotes about Y2K. How do they sound now? Y2K is a "very, very serious problem.... There's no point in sugarcoating the problem... If we don't fix the century-date problem, we will have a situation scarier than the average disaster movie you might see on a Sunday night." -- Charles Rossetti, commissioner of the U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS), cited by Tom Herman in "A Special Summary and Forecast of Federal and State Tax Developments," Wall Street Journal, April 22, 1998, pg. A1. "When people say to me, 'Is the world going to come to an end?' I say, 'I don't know." Senator Robert F. Bennett (Republican from Utah), chair of the Senate Special Committee on the Year 2000 Technology Problem, in a speech June 2, 1998, to The Center for Strategic and International Studies. "I would like to tell you that...the efforts of hundreds of Y2K-focused consulting firms around the world has pretty much worked, and that long before we hit the Y2K wall less than two years from now, the problems will be pretty much solved. I would like to tell you that-- but it would be a lie.... Many, many firms, including some surprisingly large ones, have continued to drag their feet...and now won't possibly be ready to avoid disastrous problems come that cold January morning" "The Hidden Side(s) of Y2K," PC Magazine, February 10, 1998 --------------------------------------... Sound pretty over-hyped now, doesn't it? But don't worry, here comes man-made global warming to keep all the sheeple nervous and panicky and entertained for the next few years. Yay!

Its a herding thing I suppose. And its always the bad hoax that flys the best with the public. Thats one of the reasons why the founding fathers of the USA setup the federal government as they did. Hoaxs are not new to the world- remember the flat world idea that you could sail off the edge of Earth if you went too far. That one lasted for 1,000 years or more.

Y2K was a legitimate military concern due to mistakes found in the codes and programming. They worked to fix it. The media blew it up and turned it into a big deal.

And that proponents travel the world in jets (the only way currently to travel quickly, unlike SUVs where there are multiple alternatives) is no possible argument against the scientific consensus and mountain of data supporting global warming. It's a variant of the personal attack fallacy and has no validity and no logic.

It's very real. To the people who say "solar variation" or "volcanoes". It's not that. The IPCC report analyzed those things and many others. That analysis is not their opinion, it's straightforward calculations based on peer reviewed data. And they say the major problem is us. The IPCC report has huge amounts of data and has received the most peer review of any scientific document in history. It's a unanimous report of hundreds of scientists from countries all around the world, from countries with very different political concerns. Science does not get any more solid than this. Read it for yourself. Much real data, unlike the deniers hand waving and wild accusations.

It's not a liberals thing. Most all scientists accept it:

And here are several Republicans who accept it as real. You may not respect all of them, but surely you respect some.

"The science of global warming is clear. We know enough to act now. We must act now."

James Rogers, CEO of Charlotte-based Duke Energy.

"The overwhelming majority of atmospheric scientists around the world and our own National Academy of Sciences are in essential agreement on the facts of global warming and the significant contribution of human activity to that trend."

Russell E. Train, former environmental official under Presidents Nixon and Ford

"We simply must do everything we can in our power to slow down global warming before it is too late. The science is clear. The global warming debate is over."

Arnold Schwarzenegger, Republican, Governor, California

"Our nation has both an obligation and self-interest in facing head-on the serious environmental, economic and national security threat posed by global warming."

John McCain, Republican, Senator, Arizona

"These technologies will help us become better stewards of the environment - and they will help us to confront the serious challenge of global climate change."

President George Bush

Global warming is extremely well founded in science. It most certainly is not a hoax. That would be like calling evolution, or the theory of relativity a hoax.
Every single major scientific institute that deals with climate research has explicitly agreed with the IPCC's conclusions. Do you really think that all of these institutes would back a hoax? You'd be much better off trying to attack the science behind the theory than accusing them all of fraud.

Because people WANT to believe mankind is powerful enough to wreck the earth. The question is, for all these people that believe mankind is causing global warming, what are they doing about it? Because if mankind truly is powerful enough to ruin the earth, then mankind is also powerful enough to save it. How many of these people have gotten rid of their gas guzzlers, spent money to plant trees, practiced recycling, installed solar heat in their homes, biked or walked to work, etc. etc.? And how does Al Gore live? Does he drive a gas guzzler? Does he use solar heat? Does he plant trees? How many miles does he log on that jet? I would really like to know. I wish someone would ask him.

first of all people want something to believe they want to think that there will be a disaster and that our advanced technology will serve some kind of purpose when a real crisis arrises. Not only that, but our enemies own most of the country through the debts we owe and most if it is because of oil. The government knows if they voice that fact it will show weakness and their egos the size of our trillion dollar debt will be hurt.

There's a sucker born every minute. To prove it, you bought into your belief which sounds useless. Why isn't it possible that we mere humans were able to take evasive action and prevent something from happening, like Y2K. I suppose you have your doubts that there was a holocaust.

I read a book once called Wizards First Rule. The wizards first rule was that people would believe a lie because a( they want it to be true; or b( they are afraid it is true. I think there is some truth to this.
