Dionysius Pronunciation

I am an actor, and Dionysius is the Greek God of actors. He is also (not ironically) the God of wine. His Roman equivalent is Bacchus.

Ignore the others who say that name has 5 syllables, it is

DIE-uh-NY-sus.

I promise. The rest are just guessing.

There is a theatre group in Dawson Creek, BC Canada called Dionysus Theatre Company.

I couldn't find a site where you could hear the pronunciation. But here's how I've heard it:

dee-on-EE-see-us

Type it into www.m-w.com, it'll tell you the pronunciation.

It's somewhere along the lines of "dye-uh-NEE-siss".
