lately my partner of 2 years has been very distant, his mum is not well, that could be a factor, but for example new years eve he made excuse after excuse why he didnt want to go out then i managed to persuade him that we should as we had arranged to meet my family, after 10 mins and a pint of coke he said he needed to go home to get his phone charger (we dont live together) so he left and 10 mins later he came back in a completely different mood, no charger, then said he was staying at home but infact stayed out but not with me. Many things since then and the fact that i caught him texting a girl called jenny who he says lives more than 70 miles away but at 1250 in the morning why?

First thing I thought of after reading your question, is that he may have a drug problem? Its strange when he left your mom's house and came back in a completely different mood. Jenny could be a dealer. Hopefully he's not doing either.

yes he has met someone else and is having sex with her, sorry to say. Don't prolong this, if you love him, try to reason with him, if not, then move on, its gonna hurt but in the long run it will hurt worse if you stay and he continues this behavior
