my credit is so-so but out of curiosity i applied for an American express card and got approved for 2,000. i was surprised and i am wondering what is the hardest CC to get approved for...?

The Black American Express. It has no limit.
But for every day people, I'm not sure. I would have guessed with you. Maybe you are a better risk than you think.

Perhaps it's hard to go from having a credit card to not having a credit card. But when you've never had one, you don't know any different. I've never had one and never will, and I don't borrow money for the same reason. I don't spend what isn't mine. It's not hard, it's just life. I spend what I earn and this gives me motivation to earn more so I can spend more. The thought of buying holidays or any luxury goods with money that isn't mine is something that's completely alien to me. I don't know if I could enjoy a holiday paid for with a credit card because I'd be constantly worrying how I'd pay it back! I think people fall into the trap of forgetting it's real money, it's easy when no cash is exchanged and it's just a case of sticking a card in a machine and suddenly you have something nice and new. I think this is a pretty unhealthy state to be in and can unfortunately lead to people getting into a lot of trouble.

Mastercard is one of the most difficult cards to get approved for because it requires you to have a very high score for your credit.

usually american express is picky with the choice of customers... i would say also discover is hard to get.... no retail store cc is hard to get... everyone gets approved for those
