You say you have been on this course before - did something happen last time to make you feel unhappy or anxious? Why have you chosen to go on this course again - it is something you really want to do?
Perhaps if you write down all the worries you have about starting the course, and then make a list of what you want to get out of it, you might be able to put things more into perspective.
Are you worried that you won't be up to the expected standard, or that you won't know anyone? I have no doubt that there will be others who are feeling the same but who may be better at covering it up.
At the moment, you might only be focussing on what could go wrong - I speak from experience as I have my own phobias!
Do you know anyone who is going to be there that you could pair up with? Have you tried any relaxation techniques to help you sleep - because the more anxious you become at the moment, the less you will be able to sleep and the worse you are feeling - it's a vicious cycle.
Try to concentrate on one thing that you want to achieve to start off with and decide how you are going to go about it. Small steps are more achieveable than larger ones. Promise yourself some kind of treat when the first session is over - focus on a positive outcome instead.
Hope this helps and best of luck!

Try and focus on the end result. The qualification you will have after completing the course and the feeling of satisfaction and fulfilment for having stuck it out.
You are bound to meet people and make new friends so that`s a bonus. It sounds like something upset you last time you went, I don`t believe the same thing will happen.
Put it out your mind for now and tell yourself you will (if need be) worry about it Sunday evening. Go out and have yourself a great weekend with your friends and favourite members of your family. By the time Sunday evening comes I am hoping you will be so full of confidence having spent time with those who love you that you will be itching to get there on Monday.
Best of luck, I hope this helps. You are doing a great thing by expanding your knowledge and bettering your chances in life. Hold your head up high and go get `em kid! x

ask yourself is it the course thats worrying you? the exams or maybe the lecturers? how did you find the course last time round, easy/hard? did you understand it? is there anything else in your life at the moment that could be worrying you?
when you have the answers to these then if possible tackle them before you start on Monday, like brushing up on revision, taking a different approach to a person or sorting out other personal problems etc
if things cannot be sorted before Monday then try and just forget about it and just really knuckle down to the course - sorting things out in your spare time
as for the sleepless nights try winding down listening to a bit of music just before bed - dont try and watch tv as you relax because this actually makes your brain work faster and your body tense. help this along with a hot cup of cocoa or a glass of warm milk. if this still doesn't help try Kalms, available in most pharmicists or drugstores.
And if that still doesn't work have a joint and a glass of wine before bed! usually works for me :)

Hi,
If i were you i would go and tell your doctor how you are feeling - tomorrow - before the weekend.
I suffer with panic attacks which are caused by being anxious for long periods of time. Dont know if you have ever had them or know of them but anxiety can eat away at you until it is either dealt with or comes out physically - panic attacks, headaches etc.
I have beta-blockers for anxiety which stop it and stop the panic.
Talk to gp.
There are herbal tablets like Calms which may help you.
Have you talked to family or friends or other people on the course about how you feel this may help.
Did you enjoy the course last time, if not that could be why.
Was it hard going?
Lack of sleep will only make you feel worse as well so like i said please go see your doctor and see if he can help.
No that i think you should avoid situations that scare you (face your fear, etc) but - do you have to do this course ? maybe your subconciously thinking its not the right thing for you?
Anxiety is horrible and i feel for you, hope you get help.

Adrenalin, the same thing that will give you a hell of a buzz when you've finished your first day on the course.
Are there any logical reasons why you shouldn't do the course?
Avoid caffeine, cola, tea coffee and chocolate, after lunchtimes.
Exercise rigorously as many times as you can, esp, afternoon, to have a good sleep.
Do not panic, tell yourself all the good reasons to do the course and do plenty of hobbies, housework, practical things, not sitting at the tv or reading as these are not involved enough.
just a couple of days, you'll be right.
o, don't forget to eat.

Remember that worrying achieves absolutely nothing. You will see what things are like when you start the course and you may as well enoy your time until then. Lavender is good for sleeping. Try to get some exercise too - it will help you lose yr worries.

You are stressing your self, and that is overwhelming you, you need to relax. and go out with your friends and have some fun, or watch something on tv that is a funny movie, or program, go rent a funny movie. Listen to some relaxing music, just try to kick back and enjoy yourself, and quit the overwhemling that you are doing to yourself, cause it is not healthy. You are keeping you mind so busy by worry about it that when it comes time to sleep you, can't cause you have gotten yourself all weln up, so tty to relax, and try to empty you mind, and not worry about the class you are going to be takeing. Cause as you see, it has done nothing but cause you to lose sleep, and to become stressed, and overwhelmed, about nothing.

Hmm Are you sure it is the course that is causing you anxiety. The thing about anxiety is that it is always general in nature, in my experience. It is hard to pin down exactly the cause. You think it is one thing, but it turns out to be another.
