If you can document that it was issued to Brig General William Huston> IT'S PRICELESS!!!!!!!!!!!! Considering the History behind the Firearm!!!!!! Because of it's History it's more valuable than the Firearm itself!!!!!

That depends on it's condition. If you google search you can find websites which can determine the model of a handgun by its serial number and then give you the values for the various ranges of conditions. No one here can tell you the value of the weapon without seeing it.

Potentially, however, that hand gun could be worth alot. Someone I know has an original issue 1911 colt .45 and it's in excellent condition placing it at an approximate market value of 2,700 dollars.

You can check the web site http://www.gunbroker.com/. They have several different links and tools to help you appraise the value of you gun, even expert appraisers for a nominal fee, about $10.00, however I am not sure if you have to be a member or not, even if so the membership is free. Best of Luck.
