My 4.0L 6 cyl. wrangler has been having some oil pressure issues. I got off the highway the other day and my pressure droped to 0, as soon as I went to pull off the ramp to park and shut it off I noticed the pressure returned. Once I stoped again the pressure droped to 0. Checked the oil which was fine and I haven't been hearing any knocking or ticks. It seems that I only have this issue when my temp gets up to normal opperating temp. What could the issue be? Oil pressure sended? Oil pump? It has been cold in CT lately...could that have something to do with it??

If you don't hear any unusual noises, then odds are its just the sending unit. Best way to make sure is to have a pressure test done on the engine....takes 15 mins. Cheapest way to check is just to replace the sending unit.

Check the Va *** lines. The engine system works off of pressure if there's a hole in the line it will affect everything. Like starting with lower gas MPG the engine light will come on. But don't worry it doesn't cost that much to fix. If you the kit from Jeep $26. but you may not need the whole kit. How to check get real soapy water and run it over the lines look for the Tiny bubbles. Best of luck

My 98 Wrangler was doing the same thing, I replaced the sending unit and it has worked fine ever since (sending unit is located next to distributor on passenger side looking at front of the Jeep, look for 2 wires)

It could be either oil filter, oil sending unit, oil gauge, or the oil pump. Take the oil sending unit out, place an oil pressure gauge in and check for pressure. If you have good pressure, it is either the gauge or the oil sending unit.

take it to the shop, they can find out whats wrong so you dont have to waste money on something that isnt broken. Do not drive with no oil pressure though because it will turn ut tj into a big fat flamin piece of all your $
