It sounds like she's the right age and size to sit in the front. And I remember that was one of the privileges of being the oldest in the family - getting to ride in the front seat! Tell your son that once he's the right age and size he'll be allowed to ride in front and they will have to take turns. He'll get his chance.

I am 14, and I sit in the back most of the time with my brother, except for sometimes when we are driving to church or whenever I feel carsick. My brother doesn't really care.

When I was 6, sometimes, my parents would allow me to sit in the front, but that was before the law was made (I think in this state, not the country) that everyone ages 4-8 must be in a booster seat and kids 9-12 must wear seatbelts across their shoulders and across their waists. Everyone else has to still has to wear seatbelts.

Lots of people recommend that people 12 and under sit in the back seats whenever possible, unless you are, say, carpooling a lot of kids 12 and under in which case the oldest kid or the tallest, heaviest kid (hopefully a 10-12 year old) should be placed in the front.

When I was ten, I was just about three inches, I would say, shorter than I am now. Right now, I am about your daughter's height and weight.

I'd say she's tall enough to sit in the front. Age has nothing to do with it, in my opinion. You could have a 5'6'' 10 year old who weighs 120 pounds versus a 4'5'' 15 year old who weighs half of that. Who would you put in the front?

Her weight and height are well over the recommended amount to sit in the front seat. In our state the child has to be 8 or older, 80#s or more and at least 57inches (4ft 9in) tall.
If your son is at that mark then he too should be able to sit up there as well. It might also depend on your state like I said.

If your son gets jealous, talk to him. He needs to understand that he's the younger of the two, and she will be able to do things before he can.
How do you plan on handling things when they get older and she gets to go out with friends, and he can't?
He just needs to understand, and you need to teach him.

Good luck!

my daughter 11 (very nearly 12) and in hardship-free words about one inch shorter than i'm. i enable her sit interior the front provided that I have a situation the position there are in the different case too many little ones to fit in my automobile. i plan to proceed that for approximately yet another 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, and then i anticipate i will purely enable her sit interior the front on each occasion she needs. for sure the again is safer even for adults, yet faster or later the completed chauffeur association starts to seem unnecessary. as for "perfect" for different people, extremely than what i ought to do, i ought to say at the same time as they're style of a similar proper as a small adult it really is authentic looking for them to be interior the front. shorter than that hazards problems with the air bag. i have self assurance the guidelines i have considered usually propose round age 12. in my state it truly is not a regulation, regardless of the indisputable fact that.

Yes, I'm fourteen and I have been sitting in the front seat since I was nine. My sister is two years younger and has been sitting in the front seat since she was eight. I know you're worried, but I think that now is a good time to let her sit there. Hope this helped.

i believe once they hit 100lbs it is ok. I however, would encourage back seat sitting whenever possible. it's just safer!!! statistics claim that most fatal accidents occur closest to home. so your theory of only on shorter drives really doesn't make it too much safer. If your son is not yet 100 lbs, and/or atleast 12 which is the law in my state, you tell him so. the puberty deal was discussed on tv as far as airbag's are concerned. so....my advice...over 12, over 100lbs and through puberty!!!!

Im 13 and I sit in the front except not when we're on the highway, or a really long drive. Otherwise she's much more taller and heavier than me though, i think she can now, shes old enough.

Sounds like she could sit in the front. Check your car manual to see if there is any restriction because of the airbag. And remember in 3 years she'll be sitting in the front anyway and asking for the keys to boot!

Good luck

I can't believe you are asking this! What do you want her to be 6 feet? She is already taller than alot of grownup drivers. If she has gone through puberty she may never get any taller. So then what? Is it the back seat for the rest of her life? Let the girl grow up, and treat her so.

If your son is big enough, have them take turns. She should be able to sit up there all the time now. It's not fair that only she would be able to if you've got both kids....If there is a size factor, and he is too small, there's your reason right there. Good Luck.
