Don't be embarrassed - be proud your Dad took time out of his busy schedule to go with you on this field trip! He'll probably give you plenty of space to enjoy yourself, so don't stress out - just have fun!

Hate to tell you this but he will embarrass you. That's what parents do. You then get to do what kids do and roll your eyes at him. Your friends will understand since their dads embarrass them too. Some day you will look back on it and realize that what he was doing was showing he loves you (even though it doesn't feel like it right now.) Try to look on the bright side maybe he'll treat you to dinner to make up for the embarrassment.
Good luck

I know you won't believe me, but everyone your age is more worried about what everyone is thinking of them that how they feel about your dad. lots of those kids would LOVE to have their dad going with them on the field trip and some are jealous of you, believe it or not.
in a few years, you will realize how lucky you are to have a dad that cares about you.
even if he says or does something embarrassing, that's him, not you.
try to enjoy yourself

Why don't you just be glad he cares enough about you to go and not worry if he embarrasses you? The other kids are not even going to think anything about it! They are going to be jealous that your dad is coming with them and theirs isn't! If your dad tries to be funny, just laugh and make him feel good! If you laugh and say "Dad, you're so funny"!!!! The other kids will think he is and that he's a cool dad!!!

You should be happy your Dad is involved in your schooling. Maybe you can talk to him about your feelings ahead of time. Ask to not be in the group of kids that he is supervising. Sounds like your dad is pretty popular with your friends and that is a good thing too.

Wow - I'm glad that my kids don't feel that way - they are proud when I or their step-dad have the time for them and go on a field trip or volunteer in other ways at their school.

Tough it out.
Everyone has parents and everyone at one time or another is more or less embarrassed by them. A parent who is willing to help out with a school project is a loving parent and you should be very proud of him. It'll work out OK. He loves you enough to give of himself to help you and your classmates out. You're a very lucky kid.

you should feel proud he is taking the time to go, he will only embarrass you if you let him, it's all how you look at things, don't you think your friends have dads too, only there's were not kind enough or care enough to come along

don't be embarrassed. you should be happy that your dad has a chance to spend time with you. most dads do not have this chance with their kids. everything will be fine.
