Technically, according to the Spanish they teach you in school, you are supposed to put in the "al". But, in reality, many native speakers don't say it this way. However, you DO need an accent in béisbol. So your sentence should be:
Vamos a jugar al béisbol.

In Spain I would say:

'Vamos a jugar a béisbol'; 'Vamos a jugar al béisbol' is also ok but more informal.

In other countries who speak the same language it might be different...

Vamos a jugar beisbol ....is correct!!!

You would use "a" preceding a person.....for example...
Vamos a ver a Jose.----It is a personal a and does not translate in english.

No that would be unnecessary. Your not saying "we are going to play to the baseball." You want to say "We are going to play baseball."

Vamos a jugar beisbol.

remember "v" in Spanish sounds like "b" in English.
