You can do that, but why would you want to? It'll decrease your truck's fuel efficiency.

It should say in the owners manual but it is more efficient to drive with overdrive on, even with a trailer. The only time you really need to turn it off is pulling a hill and the trans starts "hunting or searching". IE... at about 45 in OD, the trans downshifts for power as speed picks up, it shifts up. But starts losing speed due to loss of power and downshifts again. Allowing a trans to hunt like this builds heat and you should turn off OD or pull selector down a notch.

You may drive any way you want, on or off. Be advised, you will get bad gas mileage and the higher RPM's will wear your engine faster. I have a '97 and I never turn off the OD.

it will decrease your fuel efficiency at all speeds and gears.
you do not have to go over 55 to feel the difference.
it will give you more torque which uses more fuel.
try it out for a day. you will feel it be slower but more powerful on hills.
you dont have to turn off the OD unless your towing.

you will have no problems. The manual says to turn it off if it is hilly or if your towing. Having it off will not burn out your trans or kill your motor prematurely. It's there to help save mpg. I personally leave mine on unless towing or when i pass people.

you can drive with od off and it wont hurt anything. sure you will get a decrease in mpg. if you read in your owners manual it will tell you to tow with the od off. if you dont you can then burn the tranny up.

If you're driving around town (less than 50mph), then it is fine, just on the highway turn it back on to keep your gas mileage.

you can drive it with the overdrive off, but you will get worse gas mileage, nad you might burn your transmission, so i would drive it with the overdrive on.
