i've used onions, green peppers, and snow peas, but what are some other things sauteed that would taste good with them?

Mushrooms? Like baby bellas?

Although all I do is toss the pierogis with either pesto or garlic butter. Not traditional, but very good.

I find the traditional and simple topping of butter and salt and pepper to be very good and you can focus on the pierogi and moisten it with the butter.

Another thing I like is butter and then cheddar cheese, pop it in the microwave for a few seconds and it will get very melty and creamy and delicious.

As far as vegetables go carmelized onions with a brown butter sauce and sauteed red peppers. I often sprinkle a little chilli powder to spice it up.

I have a friend who gives her kids a mexican spin on it with ground beef or bacon, sour cream, cheddar cheese, peppers and they love it!

Hope this helps at all!

I like to put French Onion dip. But here is another good option.
One time I browned some ground beef. Mixed in some mushroom gravy with the beef. Then served that over the top of the pierogis. Pretty good.

My favorite is browned onions with melted butter. My husband eats them with ketchup. My uncle eats them with Kayro corn syrup. It is actually quite good and I indulge in it myself sometimes. Some poeple like to use their favorite salad dressing. Chop up perogies and layer with butter dots, bacon crumbles and cheese ~ bake in the oven.

I eat them by themselves sauted in butter or top them with spaghetti sauce. Nothing fancy but good.
