Okay so. I straighten my hair and color it.
I haven't colored it in awhile with the exception of temp dye on a few strands. I straighten it every few days, though.
After I get out of the shower and my hair drys naturally. Its curly, extremely poofy and dry. The thing that bothers me the most is how poofy it is, its absolutely insane. No lie.
How can I fix this? I've tried olive oil a few times but it didn't really help with the poofyness, it did make it soft, though.
I don't want to go out and spend 20 dollars on a bunch of stuff, I'd prefer if there was some home treatment or something that I could do. My hair used to be nice when its dry and now its just terrible.
please help me out? (:

Use Pantene Pro-V smooth and sleek. It works really well. I'm on chemotherapy so I can't do anything with my hair so it's thin, brittle and since my hair is naturally straight with a little but of waves, this helps keep it like that. It smells good and keeps your hair nice and smooth. No more dryness or static.

I totally know what you mean. I color my hair like I change socks. Its crazy. Straightening? OH MAN. Everyday. Usually two times a day. Its a bad habbit, even when my pair is perfect after school, and I know im going out hit the straightener.
My hairs naturally curly, dry and poofy too.
What I do is once a week use mayo. It might smell horrrriable at first. But it REALLY smoothed my hair down and made it TONS less dry. Also Garnier Frutice has amazing conditioners that work magic.
My brothers girlfriend taught me a trick, which may or may not be apealing to you. I tried it and it worked pretty great.
When you take your shower wash your hair every other day with shampoo but every day with conditioner.
It makes your hair A LOT manageable =)
Hope i helped.

Try John Frieda Frizz-Ease Hair Serum. It's only about $6.00. The olive oil is good. I found an olive oil deep conditioner (Kiss MY Face) at Trader Joe's (and on line). It was less than $5.00. I leave it on overnight and rinse it out in the morning. It helps a lot. Aussie Moist Conditioner works great as a daily conditioner and is very inexpensive. I permed and colored my hair and it all broke off. Done straighten as much. My stylist said you need to choose between color or perm/straightening, you should never do both.

If you want to fix it, you might have to spring for some salon products! Naturally curly hair is typically more fragile than straight hair. Get an intensive moisture or strengthening treatment from a salon brand. You wont have to use as much to get desired results as you would with a store brand, it'll save you money in the long run. And make sure you use ANY product on your hair before you heat style, gel, mousse, anything. It will provide a protective barrier between your hair and the heat.

If your hair is acting this way because it's dry, try avacado. Get one or two avacados. Blend them up including the skin (throw out the seed) Put it in your hair and let it sit for an hour. It will really help moisturize your hair. Then rinse it out. Wash it thoroughly later that night, or the next day.
Try this on a day that plan to stay home all day.

well if you're ready for some serious stuff, here's THE best product so far. KERASTASE NUTRITIV Masquintense Intense Enriching Treatment for very dry hair. (usually highlighted in black) buy a jar of that, do the treatment at least 2 weeks apart, and you'll love it! If you can't find it at drugstore.com, try the fancy salons they'll either order it for you or have it handy. Good luck!

Paul Mitchell's Hair Repair Treatment should work for you. Also make sure that you put in a flat iron product to protect your hair when strightening it. Otherwise it will become more dry and it will damage it.
