Can a smaller kind of guy make it through the USMC Boot Camp?

Im 5'7ish at around 160-165 lbs, I can meet all the IST requirments easy, but Im not a real big guy. I can lift well for my size and can run pretty well. And I can overpass the IST (Initial Strength Test) requirments easily. Can a smaller kind of guy make it through the USMC Boot Camp?

Absolutley devil dog!!!!
My senior drill instructor was no taller than 5'4" and couldn't have wieghed more than 120 lbs. Sr. Drill Instructor GySgt Pentecost. I'll never forget him. He was 10 pounds of heart and 110 of whoop ***.
Sgt Maj. Dan Daly (2 time winner of the CMOH) was 5'6" and weighed 132.

Why not? Big doesn't mean best, brightest or strongest. Have you got stamina and smarts? I know girls who are small who could kick six foot marines back to boot camp and they aren't even soldiers. I also know some females who beat Marines at 20 mile marches carrying heavy gear just to show some of them what whimps they were. Those females weren't allowed to join the service back then and did it to prove that females were just as strong, smart and capable as males. Not one of them was over 5'5" tall, nor did they weigh more than 135 pounds. So, what, other than your own self doubt, is holding you back? If you don't try, you can't fail. If you don't play, you can't win.

I believe you will do fine. My cousin Lance Cpl. Jacob Szyzdek, was around your size but was a little skinnier and he did fine. He even aced his PFT. You might be picked on a bit more for your size since it's easier to single you out, but you'll live through it. It's all about the mind, in my honest opinion. The body comes second.

You'll be alright. Expect the toughest challenge of your life. There will be a lot of fighting, wrestling, bare-knuckled boxing, etc. with other guys in your platoon. That's part of the training. Also, expect to develop the discipline it takes "spending a lot of time staring at the back of another guy's head."
