I'm in my school's ski club and i just got my black diamond sticker, and i was thinking about hitting the terrain park, but im not so sure about the jumps. How do you go off of ramps? Does the ramp just launch you in the air, or do you have do maybe "pop" yourself up at the edge of the jump? Im not thinking about doing 360s at the start, maybe just taking it easy the first couple of times and then try to do a grab trick.

It isn't so much the jumping as the landing. Absolutely key is to make sure you're landing on a slope, not on anything flat. To "jump", just build up speed and go off. You don't have to physically jump into the air - just let your speed do the work. For a longer/bigger air, you can suck your legs up into your body (almost like tucking), but again, you aren't trying to catapult yourself. For landing, if you lean forward or back, you'll crash. If you're going to err one way, though, leaning backwards will be less embarrassing and painful, though. You just want to stay centered and reach for the ground to absorb - think hopping out of bed in the morning.

If you start small and slow, and work your way up, you won't have any problems.

If you are attempting a 360, u have to keep your head rotating and your body will follow. It is important to spot your landing as soon as you can which will enable you to stomp it. As far as taking off, the momentum alone will allow you to get up in the air, but keep in mind you'll need adequate speed to complete the rotation. Anyway, the best thing you can do is practice, practice, and practice some more.

Start small, don't try too much at once. Watch out for the tabletops though, you need some speed to clear them, because you really don't want to land on the flat.

You can coast off of them, but by popping the lip a little you stabilize your center of balance.

go as fast as you can. then jump as hard as you can when u get to the top of the jump. the unbalanced jump will probably make u rotate or flip so he 360 will take care of itself.

*im not responsible for any injuries.

seriously tho. the best way is to find asmall jump and just ride off of it. then keep working your way up. please dont try and 360 right off the bat. ull catch tip (skis will dig into he snow when u land) and smack ur face. not pleasant. dont try unles you actually know wat ur doing. otherwise ull hurt yourelf.

Make sure to bend your knees when you land...!

You've got to have enough speed to get up the jump or you'll get half way up and slide back down...
