You know..I really dont' want to admit it...

But there are soo many Ford taurus out there.. I bought a 98 ford taurus for $3,000. It has no whistles and bells on it but the engine is perfect and hasn't failed me.

You can find tons of them for less than $3,000

Go on Carmax.com or yahoo autos and compare

Get a old Buick with a 3800 engine. they are good for 200,000 miles. for $2500 you get a 95 park ave or lesabre with about 120,000. That is plenty of car left and they are dependable. The 3800 engine gets 29gpm highway and 18 city. The ride is smooth almost like a Cadillac.

honda civic would be an excellent choice. any honda would be a pretty good choice, or if you can rebuild a car a vw beetle is perfect it only costs around 1k to rebuild. but if you buy a used working car it will probably be over 90k miles but this is ok because most honda's will last 130k miles.

Find an older Geo Prizim. Ugly, YES but, great on gas and very few repair problems with this car.
