My friend Ben died of Leukemia and he had frequent nosebleeds during the duration of his illness. You think that might be the cause? Like, leukemia or something?

PS
I wonder if my friend had nosebleeds due to his leukemia or due to the treatments? What do you think?

My husband has the same problem and the doctor said it may be some problem with a weak blood vessel in his nose. If it keeps going and is really annoying you, try going there and they will cauterize the vessel to stop bleeding. Fairly painless, actually.

Maybe it is the picking , but I had a horrible problem with this in my teenage years. It was very traumatic for me because I pass out at the sight of blood. I went to an Ear Nose Throat specialist and he said that the blood vessels in my nose were too close to the surface so any irritation caused nosebleeds. What he did was stick something up my nose that looked like a really fat match and when it touched the skin in my nose it burned like living hell for a few minutes. But I have never had nosebleed problems again. I don't know what that procedure is called but maybe if you describe it to a doctor he would know and could have it done for your daughter.

Higher than normal blood pressure is a common cause. Any one of the following can also cause a nosebleed: Vomiting, 'pushing' on the toilet, sneezing or coughing chronically, blowing your nose all the time, spending a lot of time with your head below the level of your heart, childbirth... (lol)

Doubt you're having a baby. But please talk to your doctor. They may be able to find another medical reason for this. To stop a nosebleed, pinch the nose tightly closed with a clean cloth until the bleeding stops. Don't lean your head back. People used to recommend this, but this will cause you to swallow blood and make you sick, which could possibly aggrivate the problem.

If you have frequent nose bleeds I would suggest you see a doctor.

Usually the best way to stop a nosebleed is to tip your nose back and to pinch your nose at the base right between your eyes. Sometime placing an ice pack helps too.

I have heard that nosebleeds sometimes are caused by dehydration. I would suggest you drink a lot of water.

Good luck.

Pinch your nose between a forefinger and thumb. You could also apply cotton balls to your nostrils. Nose bleeds can be caused from a variety of things, one of which could be too dry of air in your home or surroundings.

If you get frequent nosebleeds, it could be a sign of something more serious and you should see a physician.

when i ws rlly lil i used to suffer from nosebleeds and my doctor said my nose just bleeds when it gets dry and i even got a humidifier..but here is something that you should do...put some vaseline with a qtip on the inside of ur nose to prevent dryness..ive been doing it since i was like 4 and it helps even when the nose gets a lil red from all the heating or sun or w/e...but do tell ur doctor, u may be allergic to something, like i can't eat too many nuts...and it may be the oil used in fast food, or u might have taken medicine, like robitussin, and ur body needed to get rid of the excess heat...

My son had this problem and as he got older he found out that if he donated blood, the nose bleeds were less frequent. You might want to try this avenue.
It has something to do with ones body producing to much blood and there needs to be a release somewhere.

Dry air could be the cause. Put a humidifier in your house.
If you sniff things up your nose, it could cause nosebleeds too.

I've had friends who got at least 3 nose bleeds a day. They grew out of them, but You should go see a doctor. It could be a cut in your nose or a neroligical problem.

well..do you pick your nose a lot? Not being funny.. but it's true. Try not to pick your nose so much. Or is your nose Constantly DRY...like hard and brittle dry? Maybe using some kind of a nose spray to keep your nose moist...not damp... will help out some.
