It's not where I thought it would be which is Docs and Settings / User / Application Data / Mozilla / Firefox/Profiles / ???.Default / Cache - there is no folder called cache.

If I do a full search of the hard-drive for a specific file it doesn't find it but Firefox is retreiving files from somewhere.

The cache files for FF are here:

C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ev7fbmon.default\Cache

You had the right idea, you just need to go into Local Settings *then* onto Application Data. Which is stupid I agree, why have two Application Date folders so close to each other, but that seems to be the way it is.

Edit: Oh FFS! The software that runs this site is a fcuking heap of sh1t! Why in the hell would you want a path truncated like that? It sort of defeats the purpose of typing out a fcuking path! Anyway, I'm sure you get the idea even if the site doesn't seem to want to help me out here.
