because somehow that pain feels oh so goooood!!!!! ESPECIALLY if you kiss it better afterwards!

Along with all of Philip's answers, there is also those that find it as a form of therapy. For some, being spanked to tears is a means of stress relief, because crying is cathartic. There are also those that actually use spanking to ease pain that they're experiencing from illness or injury. An intense spanking releases endorphins in the brain, which are a natural painkiller. This is often referred to as "subspace" and can last for hours. I have known many ladies with fibromyalgia that use spankings to lessen the symptoms.

Not all women do. But for those that do, some of the reasons are: because it's it's a safe way to play at giving up control to someone you trust; because it's a turn-on, since the heat of a good spanking soon suffuses the adjacent areas; because all the role-play that goes with it can be a lot of fun; and in some cases - though not all - because it revives childhood memories of being lovingly spanked and cared for by your parents.

pain receptors are closely linked to pleasure receptors.
