i have really puffy hair and when i want it straigh i use maxiglide. It really works. U put to 2 gels before you straighten it...(Beyond Straigh and The End, they come with the straightner) and they really help to leave it nice and silky without getting puffy. If you want extra shine at the end put a little bit of Almond Oil. You can buy Maxiglide through TV or at www.maxiusbeauty.com or at www.folica.com

Didi Gluck of Marie Claire magazine says:
To tip your hair’s proportions in your favor, I’d advise you to ask your stylist for some shorter, face-framing layers, which will give your hair more oomph by the crown. You should also be using volumizing shampoo and conditioner every time you hit the shower, as well as a root-boosting product afterward.

Use Frizz-Ease Straight Ahead shampoo and conditioner by John Freida.. it's a little pricey.. but it's wayy worth it. Also, Vidal Sasoon. It's a reallyyy great hair straightener. Make sure you get the metal plates.. they work better and it heats up faster. Your hair stays straight for almost the entire day.
